Front cover

After initial feedback from the branding post, I first had the vision along the lines of this image, which is a rough collection of photos.

However, after revisiting conventions of a digipak, I came to realise that the artists name is typically larger than the name of the album / song. Additionally, as I was working on the first version of the digipak, I had been given feedback from classmates, that there was 'too much going on', so I decided to use a silhouette of a crowd rather than a real one.

I then decided to try a different 'simpler' digipak, with just the image of the artist, still with his face not visible, and play around with the different levels of saturation and filters:

I did come to the conclusion that a pink overlay was best suited for the cover, this is to link to the branding of the artist, which consisted of black, white and pink. So I would use a pink overlay on the images for the rest of the mocks.

It wasn't until I added the image of the featuring artist that I began to edit the image using filter gallery, and made the image into some sort of cartoon, where the face is not visible but you are still able to recognise it is a person and in a way who it is ( as it is a famous person ).

I experienced some issues with the main artist, as the original image I decided to use did not cooperate too well with the filter I decided to use. This is because the face became completely black and not even remotely like a human face.

Therefore, I then chose a different image which is revealing the face, which would have a less scary effect, although still not showing the full details of his face.

Before taking the final photo for the cover, I took a image from the internet to work out the ratio on each side of the cover, and found that there was room which was necessary on the right hand side, to fit the featuring artists names, so there needed to be the same room on the other side.

I finally, added the image of the last artist, following the same themes as the other two:

Inside

For the inside of the digipak I took inspiration from Oh Wonder's Ultralife, where there are images on the inside of the digipak of the duo and the CD slots in the side rather than fixing on a plastic CD holder, and also Adeles vinyl for 21, where there are behind the scenes images on the sleeve.
Morgan and myself captured images while filming and at the photoshoots for the digipak so I used these to create a behind the scenes montage on the inside of the digpak, bringing together the video and digipak.
Millennium Child is a unique and alternative artist so I wanted to show this in the digipak, I done this by including the lyrics on the digipak ( convention of digipaks ), around the outside of the page:

I then received feedback:

Taking that into consideration I changed the font and colour to something more subtle and made the size of the rectangle fit to where the lyrics finish:

Finally, I added the images, and gave them a pinkish tint, to keep this theme throughout the video and digipak.

Back

After looking at other backs of digipaks, like Kesha's TikTok, I decided to have a similar style to the front, on a smaller size.

Feedback:

After the feedback, I changed the brightness to a lower level and tinted it to slightly pink:

This still resembled the front cover of the digipak so I removed the title, and played about with the size of the model.

After feedback, the larger size was more popular, and I wanted to incorporate the branding of Millennium Child, so I changed the font of his name to Mr Dafoe and changed the colour to pink:

For the final draft, I dulled the brightness by changing the colour to greyscale, and then added a pink tint.

Firstly, I added the image of the digipak and rearranged the words to make them more recognisable for people just passing by the poster, including the text 'featuring keepitinside and Zamir'. I also added the texts 'OUT NOW' and 'Debut Single', and icons of where the song is available, which are common of upcoming artists, and tried different colour backgrounds.

After feedback, I came to the conclusion that the image need to fill to each side of the poster, so I enlarged it. Also, it was a common theme for female artists nowadays to include the word Debut, however it isn't so common for men, so I removed this.

In this version I moved the image to the top, taking inspo from Jessie J's 'Who You Are'. I also added a gradient and fade to the bottom of the image so it doesn't seem so sharp. Again, after feedback, I was informed that the text seemed to small, and it had to stand out for the viewers to know what the song is called. So I changed the size of the font in ratio to the image:

The font was praised, however it came to my attention that the poster looked more like a film poster than a digipak poster, so I rearranged the texts to eliminate this view.
